Murphys Kids - Pourhouse (Ska/Reggae)
This Richmond based band has a great sound with the combination of Reggae & Ska. They remind me very much of The Pietasters with their sound and style. Their Hi-energy enthusiasm is contagious to the crowd and if prodded, they will take you on a trip of music utopia... They have an amazing knack of blending the instrumentation and the vocals to create just the right sound at just the right tempo for thier songs... "I still miss you" & "Anticorporate Beach Party" are two excellent examples of this and I'm sure there will be many, many more tonight. Come on out, check it out as this is just a taster for tomorrow's show at Lincoln theatre.....
Parachute Musical and Sequioa Prep get the evening kicked off around 10... Expect the headliner to take the stage around 11:30-midnite....

Once again, Peter Lamb and the Wolves had a stellar show... Two solid sets of jazz that had people dancing and the crowd enjoying the solid jazz that is a given for these talented musicians...
ReplyDeleteMurphy's Kids were also most excellent - great show - good crowd and we certainly hope to see them back in the area in the near future...
Perhaps the most suprising performance of the evening was that of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals - they played to a packed house at the Lincoln Theatre and performed to rave reviews - very solid show and I'm sorry i missed it...
