Music Picks for Saturday, June 5

Rhett Miller - Pourhouse (Rock/Indie)
This former member of the Old 97's is out on his own - and has hit the ground running... His wonderful melodic voice is perfect for his ballads - simply amazing stuff. He is on a national tour and Raleigh has the benefit of snagging him on a weekend date... Rhett is very similar to Ben Folds - so if you need a fix - check out this show... The Balsa Gliders open the show - and will bring their Death Cab for Cutie esque indie rock to the stage - this is a great double bill - and is certainly worth checking out...

Zydecopious - The Big Easy (zydeco)
Kenny Shore is back with his zydeco band for a great night of Bayou rock at the Big Easy. These guys put on one hell of a show and if you have a hankering for Zydeco - this is a show that you must check out...

Sarah Borges & The Broken Singles - Berkeley Cafe (Rock/Roots)
This Boston rocker is back again for another great show and we are ready for it. Her hard driving guitars and blended with her strong and clear vocals is a real treat. Look for her to tear it up tonight as the Carolinas are a second home for her with her Sugar Hill Records label.....
Come early, party late - it's all good and it will be a great time!
