Music Picks for Saturday, Jan 30

The Slackers Bring The Horns to The Pourhouse!
This band from New York brings their interesting blend of Ska , Funk, Soul - with a little little Reggae mixed in.... I saw these guys at a show @ the 9:30 club in DC last year and it was like someone had taken the PieTasters and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and put them together....
These guys promise to bring a great show - and offer some music that Raleigh does not get to see too much. If you like The Wailers, PieTasters, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy or Soulive, you will like these guys. Check them out on myspace www.myspace.com/theslackers
Another good band, Doco gets the show started around 10ish.....

The Blue Dogs - Berkeley Cafe (Regional Jam Rock)
This Band needs no introduction - Doing Charleston, SC proud - they've been around as long as we have - tearing up the Southeast... I can't remember how many times I've seen them at Smiths in ATL or here in Raleigh... Great Band, Great Music. I wish the band would adopt the rendition of "Never Been to Spain" that the local band The Dune Dogs play - replacing Oklahoma for Ocracoke.....
Raliegh Band - Old Habits opens the show - which promises to be a GREAT show....

The T's - Slims (Rock)
Great local music set with the T's.... A great laid back back - I love their sets @ Sadlacks on a Spring/Summer Evening.... The Slims show promises to be great as well.... Man Will Destroy Himself & Destroyed Traditon open the night around 10pm or so...

Donna The Buffalo - 2nd Night @ Lincoln Theatre....
Who is up for a 2nd helping? The Believers open the show - same as 1st night....
