Wednesday is a Great day for Raleigh Music! We have two great shows at the Lincoln Theatre and the Pourhouse tonight!
Frank Zappa! - Lincoln Theatre - 7pm Doors, 8pm Show.
I'm not sure I have to describe this - it is legend.. For those of you who know and love this man - you will be there! This will be a good show -AND it will be an early show - likely home before midnight as it is a school night....
Jill Andrews and Amelia's Mechanics - Pourhouse - 9 or 10pm.
- Jill Andrews is formerly of the everybodyfields - she brings a crisp vocal style that reminds me of Edie Brickell or she could have made the Indigo Girls a trio. It's wonderful, it's captivating and it's excellent! Check out "These Words" and "Sweetest in the Morning" on Myspace!
- Amelia's Mechanics remind me of a band from few years ago - "Sweet Bye & Bye. Their blend of bluegrass and folksy southern rock highlights the vocals and strings. It is truly a treat and and excellent opener for Jill Andrews. Check them out on Myspace - and listen to one of my faves - "Johnny Cash Jeans"
