Music Picks for Thursday, Jan 28th

Thursday Brings a couple of Solid Shows to Cheeck out:

Scrapomatic tears it up @ The Pourhouse (Soul/Blues/Folk Rock)
This band from Brooklyn, NY brings a crisp mix of folk, blues and soul that is perfect for a laid back lounge. How this will play out in thee Pourhouse remains to be seen but I'm excited to see this band. This is a real treat to have an up and coming band like this come through town. Check them out on MySpace - www.myspace.com/Scrapomaticnyc
They are not to be missed....
David Titchener & Katherine Roach kick things off around 10-10:30....

The SuperSuckers - Berkely Cafe (Rock n Roll)
This band from Seattle are a bunch of Hard Core rockers that are going to have one hell of a show. they are the self proclaimed "Best Rock N' Roll Band in the World" and are sure not to disappoint for those of you who love solid rock n roll - the way it should be... As a good pre-game, rest up, and get ready for some cussin and plenty of birds.... They should be on a roll as they are touring the country with the likes of the Drive By Truckers... Check them out on MySpace at www.myspace.com/supersuckers
The Straight 8s will start things off around 8-8:30 or so....

Bumble - The Busy Bee - (Electronica)
This is the weekly fix of Electronica at the Hive - upstairs of the Busy Bee - one of the better sets in town. I caught their show last week and it was SOLID.
Check it out for those of you who love the block rockin beats....
