Cougar Magnum - The Black Flower (Rock / Indie)
Local Rockers Cougar Magnum get your weekend started right. Come out and catch them rocking in their indie pop / rock / jam sort of way. Sarah Borges & the Broken Singles - Berkeley Cafe (Rock / Americana)
This Boston based band is about to embarq on a tour of the UK and is using this east coast run a a tune up. This is should be a great show - think of Joan Jett - if she was playing at her prime today... The voice, the superb musicianship... This is going to be a great show. It is truly amazing how the vocals and instruments can contrast and yet, still complement one another. Sarah is an amazing vocalist and brings together her band to put together a great sound.
Check them out @ www.myspace.com/borgesrocks - and be sure to check out "Better at the End of the Day" and "Modern Trick" - This will be an early show - look for it to start around 8:30 - which means you will be home early - or able to catch another show....

Thompson Brothers Band - Hibernian Raleigh (Bluegrass / Folk)
This Charlotte Based band is certainly one of the better bands that can play both bluegrass and Folk. These two are simply amazing... I surely hope we can have a good turnout for them so they visit this area frequently. They have a masterful sound of bass, drums, harmonica,guitar,ect - its almost like its not that the vocals harmonize, it's the instrumentrs do too... Simply amazing.... Check them out @ www.myspace.com/thethompsonbrothersband - listen to all the songs - they are great - I esp like "The Creek" but all of it is excellent - and see for yourself this Thursday.
Show should start around 10-10:30 and they will play several sets over the evening...

The Major Sevens - Lincoln Theatre - (Indie / Mult)
Boone based band blends all elements of bluegrass, rock, indie into their sound... At the very least it reminds you of a an early Wilco or Yonder Mtn String Band... www.myspace.com/themajorsevens
This is certainly worth checking out if your feeling like listening to something new on Thursday.... This will be an early show - expect the opening acts Joey Panzarella Band & Walter Wood Down to start around 8pm...

Bumble - The Hive @ Busy Bee - (Electronica)
Once again - come late nite and get your electronica fix at the Hive - allways a solid set and a great crowd....
